Mangroves in Critical Condition

December 14, 2011
by

EcoViva has been working for years with our partner communities in the Bajo Lempa region of El Salvador to protect the largest remaining mangrove forest in Central America from a number of threats including proposed tourist resorts, the expansion of the use of explosives in fishing, and deforestation.  A news agency in El Salvador created this fantastic video paying special attention to this issue.  EcoViva’s Executive Director, Yael Falicov, is featured in the video.  For more information about EcoViva’s work protecting and restoring mangroves, please click here.
